I haven't been to Pismo in almost 10 years, so I was definitely due for a trip. Which made my sister's wedding in Pismo perfect! :) It was an awesome weekend. The wedding was beautiful, intimate, and fun. And I had the pleasure of shooting it. Here's a few pics from the weekend. And before I go I need to give a huge "thank you" to Bri for playing photographer's assistant and showing me some awesome picture locations. you're the best! :)

The lost photos
Today, I had a request for some pics from last year's trip to Hawaii. Upon going through the pics I found a couple "keepers" that I never posted. Including one of "my" personalized roll at Sansei, which btw is the best sushi in Maui, period. :) Enjoy the pics!

Out of town weekend 2 of 3
Alright, so Monterey was pretty fun, but it was more driving than not. This weekend my sister Angela is getting married in Pismo! And I'll be enjoying it for the entire weekend. I am shooting the wedding so I'll have a couple "sneak peek" pics next week. As for today I didn't want to just bore you with reading, so here's a little something for visual stimulation from this past weekend with Elias and Marie. Enjoy!

Monterey
Hello, all. This past weekend Joel and I journeyed up to Monterey to shoot a wedding. Driving so much in such a short amount of time was rough, but all worth it in the end (side note: if you're getting tired while driving, set your ipod to "shuffle" and then play all... 'guess that song' got joel and I safely there and back). I don't really have anything more to say, except Central Coast is amazing and I can't wait to go back next weekend. Also, at the bottom I included a little sneak peek of what's to come from the wedding we shot. Enjoy the pics!

Out of town weekend 1 of 3 in May
Well, as of tomorrow afternoon I'll be Monterey bound. Joel and I are shooting a wedding this Sunday for a great couple. Seriously, I've never seen anyone so organized and on point with a wedding. Anyway, next week I'll be sure to post some pics from the trip and a few seek peeks of the wedding, so keep an eye out! Have a great weekend!

the loss of two dear friends :(
Yesterday, I lost two close companions who have been with me through thick and thin. They've traveled with me, they've worked side by side with me, and they've been up in the wee hours of the morning writing/recording music with me. They've been tossed around, beat up, pushed to their decibel limits, and now sold off. These friends I speak of are my Marshall headstock, and my Mesa 4x12 cab. They've been doing nothing but taking up storage space for 9 months, and I have to give a big thanks to Threshold for taking care of my friends for such a long period of time :) In no way am I quitting the guitar but my "rockstar" days are over. I don't plan on playing any shows or big venues so to keep this equipment, just so it can sit around is silly. Anyway, to finish off this post with a bit of irony, an hour after I sold my "rig" I got a call and was asked to be in a performing band :-/

Walt Disney Concert Hall
This past Saturday Bri and I went to Hollywood to see Keane (the band). We got in town a little early and decided to stop by the Walt Disney Concert Hall, because A. I'd never been there, and B. Bri loves architecture and has always loved that place. The garden area was open so we had the opportunity to pretty much roam freely throughout the entire exterior of the facility. It is an extremely captivating structure and a must see for anyone who has any appreciation for art, architecture, or beauty [so pretty much everyone ;) ]. Here are a few pics I got while checking the place out. Enjoy!

Yesterday was Brent -the one eating the hot dog below- Michael Stine's birthday! So a group of us went to celebrate for "thirsty thursdays" at the Storm Stadium in Elsinore. The best part about this is that Brent & Amy (his wife) live literally .5 miles from the stadium. So we journeyed across the field (pictured below) and to the stadium. It was a great night, with great friends, and I can't wait to do it again soon!

a couple weekends ago I took bri to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. The place is packed with amazing art. If you haven't seen a Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, Matisse, or Braque in person, don't even finsih reading this blog... grab your keys and drive straight there! :) but seriously, it's a great time and once your done staring at paintings you're in the middle of one of my favorite California cities. With an abundance of awesome shops, delicious food, and frozen yogurt every other store you can't go wrong. Anyhoo, enjoy the pics and if you do find yourself in downtown Pasadena be sure to check out Dots Cupcakes :)

Duh-na-na-naa-naaaa!!!! Today, my beautiful new lens arrived! (for those that care) It's a Canon 24mm f/1.4L and it's something special. Opened it, slapped it on, and took a couple shots of Joel (featured below). I can't wait to shoot this lens for all my May weddings!
Here's a few of my favorites from a ten.eleven.photo shoot this past weekend. Steve and stephanie are "good people", and stephen (their son) was great throughout the shoot. and who ever said social networking is pointless? Because this entire relationship/shoot was all made possible by Twitter. Check out Joel's blog for the full story!

A week in the making, but I am now proud to release my "new" blog! If you look up [or scroll, if you have a really small display :) ] you will notice the new header. Which has links to my twitter, soon to be facebook, flickr (for those other photographers out there), and email. This header will continually be refined over the next month, so make sure to glance at it every now and then. Also, I hope you've met the new post-header, he's friendly, and you will be seeing a lot of him, as I make sure to post at a more frequent rate (like mentioned in recent post). And finally, below is my new kennygrill logo. Well, I hope everyone enjoys all the changes, because change is good, and it looks a whole lot better then kennygrill.blogspot version 1.0 :) Have a great Monday, and make sure to keep checking in this week, because I have much to post!
